Oh the places we have been to! Some good. Some bad. Here's a list of some of our favorite, hidden gem RV campgrounds around the country. 


Bison Lane RV Campground
Louisville, Nebraska

Bison Lane Campground is located within Platte River State Park. It is an immaculate, friendly campground with 48 full hookup RV sites and 55 cabins for all your glamping needs. The park has a picturesque waterfall hike, a spray park for the kids, shooting sports complex, mountain bike trails, observation tower, restaurant and more. Chadron State Park
Chadron, Nebraska

Chadron State Park is located in the northwest corner of Nebraska among the distinctive buttes and canyons of Nebraska's pine ridge. Chadron State Park is a great destination for hikers and mountain bikers. The park and adjacent Forest Service lands host over 100 miles of trails and old roads to explore. The campground has full hookup, electric plus, basic and primitive camping sites along with 22 cabins nestled around the park.


Kartchner Campgrounds
Benson, Arizona

Kartchner Caverns State Park is located minutes from Interstate 10 at the eastern base of the Whetstone Mountains in Southern Arizona. The park is host to Kublacon - the largest cave column in Arizona. The campground has 64 clean campsites with electric and water and 4 brand new cabins. Access to the museum and cave tour is provided by a short walk via bridge from the campground. We loved it and will stay here when we are in the area.

Desert View Campground
Grand Canyon, Arizona

Desert View Campground is located at the East Entrance to the Grand Canyon, the dry campground offers a peaceful setting with 49 campsites and no water or electric. Sites accommodate tents or smaller RV’s, or vehicles with small travel trailers (30 ft. total length). Reservations can be made online or by phone (877-444-6777). We loved the peacefulness of the park and the short walk to the Desert View Watchtower but prefer Trailer Village with full hookups near by.

Trailer Village RV Park
Grand Canyon, Arizona

Trailer Village is the only RV campground located in the Grand Canyon with full hookups (sewage, water, and electrical with 30 amp and 50 amp sites available) The park is open year-round and features 123 paved pull-through sites which can accommodate vehicles up to 50 feet long. Bring your bikes, the park is close to the South Rim Village, grocery store and post office. We loved the park. It's the most wild park we have ever been to. Each morning you will see elk families browsing the park. 


St. Petersburg, Florida

Fort De Soto Campground is one of the most popular RV parks in the Tampa Bay area. It's surrounded by water and all the Florida wildlife you can imagine. A 236-site family camping area with facilities including picnic tables, grills, water, electricity, washers, dryers, sanitary disposal stations, modern restrooms, showers, play areas, and a campground store. Special camp sites for camping with pets are also available.

Jetty Park Campground
Port Canaveral, Florida

Jetty Park Campground is a hidden gem of an RV park located on Florida's Space Coast. Camp on the beach, well sort of. With the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Port Canaveral to the North and world famous Cocoa Beach to the south, it offers so many activities for RVers. Nightly cruise ship departures, sunrise fishing the jetty, midday rocket launches and waking up to the sound of the ocean, you can't beat it. The park offers over 350 campsites with a variety of camping options, from tent camping in a rustic site to relaxing in your RV with all the amenities included.
